The Ondra-Huyett Organization Wins Top Awards for 2008 in Four ABC Categories
Ondra-Huyett Associates, Inc. (OHA) and its partner company Ondra-Huyett Construction Services, LLC (OHCS) was honored by the Associated Builders and Contractors, Inc. - Eastern Pennsylvania Chapter (ABC) for top honors in four categories of construction projects. The companies received the 2008 Merit Shop Award of Excellence --the “Eagle Awards” –at the ABC Award Ceremony on November 11, 2008 in Bethlehem:
Commercial Construction Project Over $2 million for PPL North Building N-2 Renovation – a 25,000 sq ft complex office renovation project that incorporated custom design elements.
Commercial Construction Project Under $2 million for Penske Truck Leasing Corporate Headquarters Auditorium & Lobby Renovation – a extensive and state of the art renovation to the firm’s existing auditorium and lobby area.
Commercial Construction Other for the Bear Creek Resort and Conference Center Hotel Addition – 92,000 sq. ft. addition to the facility that Ondra-Huyett constructed in 2004. The addition included 65 new guestrooms, The Spa at Bear Creek, Trails End Café, banquet facilities, corporate board and meeting rooms, a year round outdoor pool and corporate offices.
Restoration / Renovation Construction Project for the Lehigh Valley Grand Prix – the adaptive reuse renovations of 48,000 sq.ft. of the former Mack Truck industrial facility into one of the regions top Sodi Kart ¼ mile grand prix style racing, entertainment and business conferencing facility.
The Award of Excellence in Construction aka "Eagle Award" is judged by an independent panel of experts representing architects, facilities managers, construction professionals and community leaders who utilize a combination of submitted documentation and site visits to determine the “best in class” from the many projects submitted in each category.
